Stand-up comedian, actor, writer and political campaigner, Eddie Izzard, was today confirmed as the latest addition to the line-up for our client HOMELINK’s #homes4homeless 20th Anniversary Gala at Glyndebourne Opera House on 17 November.
Eddie will be joining other VIP presenters on stage to introduce acts during the event, including:
- Actor and comedian Steve Coogan
- BBC presenter Katie Derham
- Comedian Zoe Lyons
- Actor Toby Stephens
- Actor Sophie Okonedo
- Man Booker Prize winner Anna Burns
- Actor Nimmy March
- Writer and broadcaster Simon Fanshawe
An Emmy Award winner with a long-standing connection with East Sussex, having grown up in Bexhill and attended Eastbourne College, Eddie is helping HOMELINK to raise awareness of the work they do in Sussex to prevent homelessness and to provide families with a way out of temporary accommodation that is often both unsuitable and a strain on local council housing budgets:
Eddie said: “With a quarter of a million people now estimated to be homeless in England, including 210,000 children, the impact of homelessness on lives and communities needs addressing urgently. No child should be spending months, if not years, living in a shipping container or emergency B&B.”
"HOMELINK offers a way out of cramped, inhospitable temporary accommodation – and with a new home comes the opportunity for families to build a new life."
