As gardeners across the UK dust off their lawn mowers for the arrival of spring, Martha has been working with Bamboo Nine client, Sims Garden Machinery, and global garden tools manufacturer, STIHL, to mastermind a Minutes Mowed lawn mowing challenge in aid of Greenfingers.
Greenfingers is a charity dedicated to supporting children who spend time in UK hospices, by creating inspiring gardens for them and their families to relax in and benefit from.
The 10-week mowing challenge is being run to raise awareness and funds for Greenfingers. Garden enthusiasts are being encouraged to follow the #minutesmowed action on social media as it unfolds and to watch the number of minutes mowed (and donations raised) grow each week.
To donate, simply text ‘MOWFIVE’ to 70085 to donate £5 or ‘MOWTEN’ to donate £10 by the end of May 2021 (texts will cost £5 or £10 plus one standard rate message).
As well as raising much needed funds for Greenfingers, the challenge has generated good PR for all involved, including broadcast interviews with the Sims team, horticultural trade press coverage, and support from The Telegraph’s gardening writer, Jack Wallington, on social media who has been posting about his own minutes mowed as part of STIHL’s team.
"Huge congratulations and thank you!"
