Sussex homelessness prevention charity, HOMELINK, commissioned us to create a PR and fundraising strategy for 2020 that would build on the community and corporate supporter relationships established by the charity’s Anniversary Gala the previous year.
We created homes4families, a campaign that highlights how HOMELINK’s client base differs from other organisations in the homelessness sector and how the support provided by the charity, through recycled interest-free loans, is so unique.
Families who have either lost their home, or are at risk of losing it, make up a significant proportion of HOMELINK clients, as do families living in emergency council accommodation and parents separated from their children because of their housing situation. By providing interest-free loans to cover the cost of advance rent and a landlord’s deposit, HOMELINK helps parents to access a safe, secure and permanent new home for their family.
homes4families was created to raise awareness of the life-changing benefits that a permanent home provides for family life, while giving HOMELINK fundraising a Sussex-wide call to action to encourage engagement from existing and new supporters.
What We Did
Ahead of a campaign launch on World Homelessness Day 2020, we:
- Worked with designers to create a brand identity for the campaign and fundraising packs for corporate supporters and local schools.
- Negotiated a charity partnership with Platinum Publishing
- Secured a corporate donation to support the campaign launch from global healthcare company Roche.
- Worked with HOMELINK and TV presenter Linda Barker to create and promote the charity’s first homes4families fundraiser – the ‘Home is Where the Craft is’ community challenge and online auction.

"We're so grateful for the difference you've made. It isn’t just your knowledge and experience that we benefit from, you are always completely engaged, I never feel that it is just a job for you."
